12. Düsseldorfer Frankreichfest 2012
On 14 July, France will be celebrating its national holiday – and Düsseldorf will be celebrating France. The three-day festival in honour of Germany’s neighbour runs from 13 to 15 July in the inner courtyard of the Rathaus (town hall) on Burgplatz and along the Rhine Embankment.
A genuine French street market, typical French specialities and a programme of francophone music will leave visitors to the 12th Düsseldorf France Festival feeling like they have had a short break in France itself.
The authentic atmosphere of the event even attracts French people living in the area to come to the Rhine. General Consul Michel Giacobbi: “The festival is very popular among my countrymen and -women. The consulate receives requests for programmes from all over NRW.”
In addition to tarte flambée, Alsatian pastries, champagne and wine, “la grande fête” also has some tasty musical treats on offer: the duo “Brigitte”, shooting stars of the French pop scene, present a retromix of pop-chansons and beat guitars. Bruno Brel pays tribute to his famous uncle Jacques and sings a selection of his songs as well as a few self-penned compositions.
