Sir Michael Caine has ditched Rolls-Royce as ‘too showy’ in austerity times

Actor Sir Michael Caine has ditched his expensive Rolex watch and Rolls-Royce because they are too ‘ostentatious’ for austerity Britain.
He has changed his Rolls-Royce for a ‘modest’ Lexus and is now wearing a plastic watch.
Sir Michael, who has starred in classic films including Zulu, The Italian Job and Cider House Rules, comes from a working class family and said he has not forgotten his roots.
He told The People: “I used to drive a Rolls and all that but they were just too ostentatious for this world now. I had to get rid of them.
