News: First Look at Seven Psychopaths, In Bruges Director Martin McDonagh’s Latest Film

Reblogged from: The Shootening

I have only just seen In Bruges. It was bloody brilliant. Yes, I know, it’s been out for years and, as a movie blogger, I should have seen ages ago but these things happen. Get over it. Anyway, Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at In Bruges director Martin McDonagh’s latest film, Seven Psychopaths.

So, what do we know? The cast is pretty frickin’ fantastic. Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Tom Waits, Gabourey Sidibe, Abbie Cornish, and Olga Kurylenko all star. If that list doesn’t fondle excitement gland, then there’s a distinct possibility you are dead. Or a Michael Bay fan. Something like that.

What we know of the plot is this – Woody Harrelson plays a gangster who flips the shit out when his beloved shih tzu is taken by unemployed actor Sam Rockwell. Rockwell, desperate for cash, half-inches (pinches) the dog for professional dognapper Christopher Walken, who steals dogs and returns them for the reward money.

Somehow, screenwriter Colin Farrell (who plays Martin, based on writer/director Martin McDonagh) gets mixed up in the whole situation thanks to his association with Sam Rockwell, and he starts writing a script called “Seven Psychopaths” based on the crazy people he meets.

My interest is more than piqued. Seven Psychopaths doesn’t have a solid release date as of yet but it’s hoped that it’ll hit cinema screens sometime in the autumn.
