Stephen King said: “I’ve always wondered what happened to that kid in The Shining.“

Me, too Mister King – me, too.

Therefore I noticed with great pleasure today, that because of this question the author is currently writing ‘Dr. Sleep’, the sequel to his Bestseller ‘The Shinning’.

The new book tells the story of Danny Torrance as an adult, around the age of 40; as he looks after the elderly in a care home when a group of psychic vampires, called “The Tribe, turn up in his life.

Stephen King read from his unfinished book ‘Dr. Sleep’ during a literary festival, as you can see in the video below.

I have no idea where it came from, but when I read this news earlier today on teletext; my inner cinema immediately startet to work. I saw Bartholomew Cubbins safeguard the film rights and later directing the movie with Jared Leto playing a character of his choice.

Even if this is a real weird idea, I have to say; it has a ring to it.
Especially since Mister Cubbins short film ‘The Kill’ was a homage to Stanley Kubrick’s film ‘The Shinning’.
