Waking up this morning I was not surprised to learn that Thirty Seconds to Mars have been nominated for 3 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s) this year with their short film music video “Hurricane”  for:

– Best Cinematography

Cinematography by Benoit Debie, Jared Leto, Rob Witt & Daniel Carberry

Thirty Seconds To Mars’ latest exploration of short film music videos incorporates avant-   garde cinema and slow motion shots directed by Bartholomew Cubbins. *

– Best Direction

Directed by Bartholomew Cubbins

Under the guise of his alter-ego, Jared Leto directs Thirty Seconds to Mars in a short film depicting life from birth to death. *

– Best Editing

Editing by Jared Leto, Frank Snider, Michael Bryson, Stefanie Visser & Daniel Carberry

The latest from Thirty Seconds To Mars rivals action flicks with its fight sequences, death-defying stunts, and a string of artistic shots. *

Well, I have to say I am surprised and a little bit disappointed that Hurricane wasn’t nominated for the category Video of the Year, too.

My heartily congrats to Jared & Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic for this, so well deserved, nominations.

I double-cross my fingers that you win them all.
